Organizing For Justice / Organisons-nous pour la Justice

A collaborative effort of several local groups and individuals hosted the Organizing For Justice conference, Nov 20-22 2008, in Ottawa, Canada. It was aimed at those involved and/or interested in community organizing and activism in the Ottawa-Outaouais region.

The themes of the conference were social justice, economic justice, environmental justice and healthy communities.

The goals of the conference were to develop:

• vision, strategy, and communication
• skills and tools for effective organizing
• relationship-building and networking

Organizing For Justice is holding the second annual conference October 15-17 2009. This will feature a keynote speaker or panel, artistic performances, multiple workshops/sessions, a bookfair/infofair, a community dinner, and a social event.
